What is the setting to the HellGuard?

HELLGUARD — INFERNAL EXTERMINATION UNIT

The year is 2076. Earth is not dying. It is being erased.

Decades of world war, planetary abuse, and nuclear fallout left civilization fractured and choking beneath poisoned skies. Nations fell. Governments vanished. Survival became a day-to-day negotiation with extinction. From the ashes of global collapse, one force rose with absolute authority and a singular purpose: Reach.

Reach did not rebuild nations. Reach rebuilt survival.

Under its command, toxic zones were purged, ruined infrastructure was reclaimed, and humanity was pulled back from the edge of oblivion. But just as stability began to return, something far worse arrived.

Portals opened.

Not machines. Not alien constructs. Wounds.

Rifts tore across the surface of the planet, burning through cities and consuming entire regions in moments. From these breaches came entities that did not belong to any world humanity had ever known. Hell had found Earth.

Conventional armies were annihilated. Weapons failed. Entire divisions vanished without leaving remains. Humanity was facing extinction not by war, but by invasion from beyond reality itself.

Then they appeared.

The HellGuard.

No one knows who truly created them. No official record exists. No announcement was ever made. But where Hell advanced, the HellGuard stood in its path. Clad in infernal-resistant armor and armed with weapons forged to destroy what should not exist, they fought where no human could survive.

They did not retreat.
They did not break.
They did not die easily.

They became humanity’s final line.

Leading them was a man known across breach zones as more symbol than soldier:

Commander Tobias Mackenzie
Command Designation: HG-01

Under his command, the HellGuard transformed from rumor into legend. Breach zones were reclaimed. Demonic incursions were halted. For the first time since the portals opened, Hell was no longer advancing unchecked.

Humanity does not know how long the HellGuard can hold the line.

They only know one truth:

If the HellGuard falls, Earth falls with them.
